A Very Hackney Affair

Each and every wedding I shoot has its own atmosphere and emotive tone. The couple are at the center of it all and whatever they are feeling is radiated out and reflected back by the family and guests .

I had the pleasure of shooting Miranda and Dorian's heart warming ceremony in early November and the words that sum up what they were radiating was pure loving devotion, it was beautiful and moving to witness.

The ceremony took place at the hackney town hall in one of their beautiful registry suites on a soft skied Saturday in November.

The guests hopped aboard vintage buses and toured gently around the east end and wound through the streets of Spittalfields until reaching the stunning reception location at 4 Princelet street a stunning early Georgian 15 bedroom house that has just the right balance of disheveled elegance to make you feel as much at home as creating an occasion of the night. The house provided the stage and the wonderful girls at The Art of Dining provided the performance. The fires were lit and each room was dressed with vintage glass wear, candles and cascading blooms of dusty orange and deep magenta. Classic cocktails were the favourite at the bar served in scientific beakers and cocktails in teacups provided a break from the fast flowing bubbly.

A friendly and relaxed feast was served starting with fresh and spicy Asian salad's and incredible slow cooked lamb platters for everyone to tuck in to, all polished off with a cherry and amaretto trifle that was so incredibly moreish my mouth is watering as I think about it.
